Rear Sunshade Does Not Operate With Rear Sunshade Switch (from 12/2010)

SYSTEM DESCRIPTION

When the rear sunshade switch is pressed, a signal is sent directly to the rear sunshade relay.

INSPECTION PROCEDURE

PROCEDURE

1. CHECK FOR DTC

(a) Delete the DTCs Diagnosis System.

(b) Check for DTCs again.

(c) Proceed to the next step based on the inspection result.

2. PERFORM ACTIVE TEST USING TECHSTREAM

(a) Select the Active Test, use Techstream to generate a control command, and then check that the rear shade raises and lowers.

OK:

Rear sunshade raises and lowers.

NG -- CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (REAR SUNSHADE RELAY - BATTERY AND BODY GROUND)
OK -- Continue to next step.

3. REPLACE NETWORK GATEWAY ECU

(a) Replace network gateway ECU Removal (from 12/2010).

(b) Check the rear sunshade operation Description and Operation.

Result:





NG -- REPLACE ECM

OK -- END

4. REPLACE ECM

(a) Replace ECM Removal (from 12/2010).

(b) Check the rear sunshade operation Description and Operation.

Result:





NG -- REPLACE MAIN BODY ECU (INSTRUMENT PANEL JUNCTION BLOCK ASSEMBLY)

OK -- END

5. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (REAR SUNSHADE RELAY - BATTERY AND BODY GROUND)

(a) Disconnect the K17 rear sunshade relay connector.





(b) Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

Standard resistance:





(c) Turn the ignition switch on (IG).

(d) Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

Standard voltage:





NG -- REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR, OR RR S/SHADE FUSE
OK -- Continue to next step.

6. INSPECT REAR SUNSHADE SWITCH

(a) Disconnect the D3 rear sunshade switch connector.





(b) Measure the resistance between the terminals according to the value(s) in the table below.

Standard resistance:





NG -- REPLACE REAR SUNSHADE SWITCH
OK -- Continue to next step.

7. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (REAR SUNSHADE SWITCH - REAR SUNSHADE RELAY AND BODY GROUND)

(a) Disconnect the D3 rear sunshade switch connector.





(b) Disconnect the K17 rear sunshade relay connector.

(c) Measure the resistance between the terminals according to the value(s) in the table below.

Standard resistance:





NG -- REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR
OK -- Continue to next step.

8. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (REAR SUNSHADE RELAY - MAIN BODY ECU)

(a) Disconnect the K17 rear sunshade relay connector.





(b) Disconnect the D6 main body ECU connector.

(c) Measure the resistance between the terminals according to the value(s) in the table below.

Standard resistance:





NG -- REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR
OK -- Continue to next step.

9. CHECK MAIN BODY ECU (INSTRUMENT PANEL JUNCTION BLOCK) (R POSITION SIGNAL)

(a) Disconnect the K17 rear sunshade relay connector.





(b) Measure the voltage between the terminals according to the value(s) in the table below.

Standard resistance:





NG -- REPLACE MAIN BODY ECU (INSTRUMENT PANEL JUNCTION BLOCK ASSEMBLY)

OK -- REPLACE REAR SUNSHADE ASSEMBLY (REAR SUNSHADE RELAY) Removal (from 12/2010)
