REAR SUSPENSION: REAR AXLE BEAM: INSTALLATION
1. INSTALL REAR AXLE CARRIER BUSH
(a) Paint the directional mark on a new rear axle carrier bush, 135° from the center of the bush groove toward the front side of the vehicle, as shown in the illustration.

(b) Align the painting mark on the rear axle carrier bush and the hole center on the rear axle beam assembly, as shown in the illustration. And provisionally install the rear axle carrier bush onto the rear axle beam assembly.
(c) Using SST, install the rear axle carrier bush onto the rear axle beam assembly.

NOTICE:
Do not damage the rubber portion when installing the rear axle carrier bush.
2. TEMPORARILY TIGHTEN REAR AXLE BEAM ASSEMBLY
(a) Support the rear axle beam assembly with an engine lift.
(b) Install the rear axle beam assembly to the vehicle and provisionally tighten the 2 bolts.
3. INSTALL REAR COIL SPRING Installation
4. TEMPORARILY TIGHTEN REAR SHOCK ABSORBER ASSEMBLY
(a) Provisionally install the shock absorber (lower side) to the rear axle beam assembly with the bolt and nut.
5. INSTALL REAR FLOOR PANEL BRACE LH Installation
6. INSTALL REAR FLOOR PANEL BRACE RH
HINT
Use the same procedure for the RH side as for the LH side.
7. INSTALL REAR AXLE HUB AND BEARING ASSEMBLY Installation
8. INSPECT REAR AXLE HUB BEARING LOOSENESS Rear Axle Hub
9. INSPECT REAR AXLE HUB RUNOUT Rear Axle Hub
10. INSTALL REAR BRAKE DRUM
11. ADJUST REAR DRUM BRAKE SHOE CLEARANCE Installation
12. INSTALL NO. 3 PARKING BRAKE CABLE ASSEMBLY
(a) Install the No. 3 parking brake cable assembly with the bolt.
Torque : 6.0 Nm (61 kgf-cm, 53 in-lbf)
13. INSTALL NO. 2 PARKING BRAKE CABLE ASSEMBLY
HINT
Use the same procedure for the RH side as for the LH side.
14. INSTALL REAR NO. 4 BRAKE TUBE
(a) Install the rear No. 4 brake tube onto the rear axle beam assembly with the nut.
Torque : 8.5 Nm (87 kgf-cm, 75 in-lbf)
(b) Connect the rear flexible hose to the rear axle beam assembly with a new clip.
(c) Using a union nut wrench 10 mm, connect the rear No. 4 brake tube to the rear flexible hose while holding the rear flexible hose with a wrench.
Torque : 15 Nm (155 kgf-cm, 11 ft-lbf)
NOTICE:
Use the formula to calculate special torque values for situations where a union nut wrench is combined with a torque wrench Service Precautions.
15. INSTALL REAR NO. 3 BRAKE TUBE
HINT
Use the same procedure for the RH side as for the LH side.
16. INSTALL SKID CONTROL SENSOR WIRE Installation
17. INSTALL TAIL EXHAUST PIPE ASSEMBLY Installation
18. INSTALL REAR WHEEL
Torque : 103 Nm (1050 kgf-cm, 76 ft-lbf)
19. STABILIZE SUSPENSION Installation
20. FULLY TIGHTEN REAR AXLE BEAM ASSEMBLY
(a) Fully tighten the 2 bolts.
