Removal
HEATING / AIR CONDITIONING: BLOWER RESISTOR: REMOVAL
CAUTION:
Some of these service operations affect the SRS airbag system. Read the precautionary notices concerning the SRS airbag system before servicing Service Precautions.
1. PRECAUTION
NOTICE:
After turning the ignition switch off, waiting time may be required before disconnecting the cable from battery terminal. Therefore, make sure to read the disconnecting the cable from the battery terminal notice before proceeding with work Service Precautions.
2. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL
CAUTION:
Wait at least 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal to disable the SRS system.
3. REMOVE CENTER LOWER INSTRUMENT CLUSTER FINISH PANEL Removal
4. REMOVE CENTER NO. 1 INSTRUMENT CLUSTER FINISH PANEL Removal
5. REMOVE SHIFT LEVER KNOB SUB-ASSEMBLY Removal
6. REMOVE CONSOLE UPPER PANEL SUB-ASSEMBLY Removal
7. REMOVE REAR CONSOLE BOX ASSEMBLY Removal
8. REMOVE FRONT CONSOLE BOX COVER Removal
9. REMOVE LOWER CENTER INSTRUMENT CLUSTER FINISH PANEL SUB-ASSEMBLY Removal
10. REMOVE FRONT DOOR SCUFF PLATE RH Removal
11. REMOVE FRONT DOOR SCUFF PLATE LH

Use the same procedure as for the RH side.
12. SEPARATE FRONT DOOR OPENING TRIM WEATHERSTRIP RH
(a) Separate the front door opening trim weatherstrip to the extent necessary to remove the lower instrument panel assembly and instrument cluster finish No. 1 panel.
13. SEPARATE FRONT DOOR OPENING TRIM WEATHERSTRIP LH
(a) Separate the front door opening trim weatherstrip to the extent necessary to remove the lower instrument panel sub-assembly and upper instrument panel sub-assembly.
14. REMOVE COWL SIDE TRIM BOARD RH Removal
15. REMOVE COWL SIDE TRIM BOARD LH

23. REMOVE BLOWER RESISTOR
(a) Disconnect the connector.
(b) Remove the 2 screws and blower resistor.
