Shift Cable: Adjustments
EB60 MANUAL TRANSMISSION / TRANSAXLE: TRANSMISSION CONTROL CABLE: ADJUSTMENT
1. REMOVE AIR CLEANER CAP SUB-ASSEMBLY Removal
2. REMOVE AIR CLEANER CASE SUB-ASSEMBLY Removal
3. REMOVE REAR CONSOLE BOX ASSEMBLY
Removal
4. DISCONNECT TRANSMISSION CONTROL SELECT CABLE
(a) Remove the clip and disconnect the select cable from the shift lever assembly.
5. ADJUST TRANSMISSION CONTROL SELECT CABLE
(a) Push the 2 claws together at the top of the transmission control cable lock piece. While holding the 2 claws together, push the 2 lugs on the bottom of the lock piece toward each other and upward to pull out the lock piece.

(b) Align the hole of the outer select lever with the hole of the transaxle case.

(c) Insert a bolt into the aligned holes to fix the outer select lever in place.
NOTICE:
In order to avoid damaging the case, do not push in the bolt forcefully.
HINT
* Use a bolt with a diameter of 6 mm (0.236 in.) and a length of at least 16 mm (0.630 in.).
* Depending on the actual bolt diameter, it may be difficult to insert the bolt. In that case, as there is some variation in actual bolt diameters, use a 6.0 mm (0.236 in.) bolt with a comparatively small diameter.
(d) Connect the select cable to the shift lever assembly and install a new clip.
NOTICE:
Make sure that the lock piece protrudes from the adjuster case.
(e) While pushing the shift lever so that the slider shaft contacts the cam wall, push the lock piece into the adjuster case.

NOTICE:
* Do not pull up the slider shaft.
* When adjusting the cable, make sure that the shift lever is not in the 1st or 2nd gear position.
* Securely push in the lock piece until it locks.
(f) Remove the bolt from the outer select lever to free the outer select lever.
