SUPPLEMENTAL RESTRAINT SYSTEMS: CENTER AIRBAG SENSOR ASSEMBLY: REMOVAL

1. PRECAUTION

CAUTION:
Be sure to read Precaution thoroughly before servicing Service Precautions.

2. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL

CAUTION:
Wait at least 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal to disable the SRS system.

NOTICE:
When disconnecting the cable, some systems need to be initialized after the cable is reconnected Repair Instruction - Initialization.

3. REMOVE SHIFT LEVER KNOB SUB-ASSEMBLY Removal

4. REMOVE CONSOLE BOX Removal

5. REMOVE UPPER CONSOLE PANEL SUB-ASSEMBLY Removal

6. REMOVE UPPER REAR CONSOLE PANEL SUB-ASSEMBLY Removal

7. REMOVE CONSOLE BOX POCKET Removal

8. REMOVE FRONT NO. 2 CONSOLE BOX INSERT Removal

9. REMOVE CONSOLE BOX INSERT Removal

10. REMOVE CONSOLE BOX CARPET Removal

11. REMOVE REAR CONSOLE BOX SUB-ASSEMBLY Removal

12. REMOVE REAR NO. 1 AIR DUCT (w/ Rear Air Duct)

(a) Detach the 2 claws and disconnect the rear No. 1 air duct from the rear No. 2 air duct.

(b) Detach the 2 claws and disconnect the rear No. 1 air duct from the rear No. 4 air duct.

13. REMOVE CENTER AIRBAG SENSOR ASSEMBLY

(a) Check that the ignition switch is off.

(b) Check that the cable is disconnected from the negative (-) battery terminal.

CAUTION:
Wait at least 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal to disable the SRS system.

(c) Using a clip remover, remove the 2 clips and fold back the floor carpet on both sides.

(d) Push and pull the connector lock lever to release the connector lock.

(e) Disconnect the airbag connector from the center airbag sensor.

NOTICE:
When handling the airbag connector, take care not to damage the airbag wire harness.

(f) Remove the 3 bolts and center airbag sensor.
