Installation





SUPPLEMENTAL RESTRAINT SYSTEMS: KNEE AIRBAG ASSEMBLY (for Front Passenger Side): INSTALLATION

HINT
A bolt without a torque specification is shown in the standard bolt chart Standard Bolt - Specified Torque For Standard Bolts.

1. INSTALL LOWER NO. 2 INSTRUMENT PANEL AIRBAG ASSEMBLY

(a) Check that the ignition switch is off.

(b) Check that the cable is disconnected from the negative (-) battery terminal.

CAUTION:
Wait at least 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal to disable the SRS system.

(c) Connect the airbag connector.





NOTICE:
When handling the airbag connector, take care not to damage the airbag wire harness.

(d) Push in the lock plate to lock the airbag connector.

(e) Attach the 4 claws to install the lower No. 2 instrument panel airbag.

(f) Temporarily install the 3 bolts labeled A and B.

(g) Tighten the 2 bolts labeled A.

Torque : 10 Nm (102 kgf-cm, 7 ft-lbf)

(h) Tighten the bolt labeled B.

3. INSTALL GLOVE COMPARTMENT DOOR ASSEMBLY Installation

4. INSTALL COWL SIDE TRIM BOARD RH Installation

5. INSTALL FRONT DOOR SCUFF PLATE RH Installation

6. CONNECT CABLE TO NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL

NOTICE:
When disconnecting the cable, some systems need to be initialized after the cable is reconnected Repair Instruction - Initialization.

7. PERFORM DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEM CHECK
