Installation





2AR-FE FUEL: FUEL TANK: INSTALLATION

1. INSTALL FUEL TANK MAIN TUBE SUB-ASSEMBLY

2. INSTALL FUEL TANK ASSEMBLY

(a) Set the fuel tank onto an engine lifter.

(b) Operate the engine lifter, and then install the fuel tank to the vehicle.

(c) Install the 2 fuel tank bands with the 4 bolts.

Torque : 39 Nm (400 kgf-cm, 29 ft-lbf)

(d) Connect the fuel tank to filler pipe hose to the fuel tank, and then tighten the hose clamp.

NOTICE:
Make sure that the mark and hose clamp are at the correct angle during installation.

HINT
Tighten the hose clamp until the end of the hose clamp is within 2.0 mm (0.0787 in.) on either side of the position where it contacts the stopper as shown in the illustration.

(e) Connect the vent line hose.

(f) Connect the No. 2 parking brake cable assembly and No. 3 parking brake cable assembly with the 2 bolts.

Torque : 6.0 Nm (61 kgf-cm, 53 in-lbf)

3. CONNECT FUEL TANK MAIN TUBE SUB-ASSEMBLY

4. INSTALL NO. 1 FUEL TANK PROTECTOR

(a) Install the No. 1 fuel tank protector with the 3 bolts.

Torque : 5.5 Nm (56 kgf-cm, 49 in-lbf)

5. INSTALL CENTER EXHAUST PIPE ASSEMBLY

6. ADD FUEL

7. INSTALL FUEL SUCTION TUBE ASSEMBLY WITH PUMP AND GAUGE

8. CONNECT CABLE TO NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL

NOTICE:
When disconnecting the cable, some systems need to be initialized after the cable is reconnected Repair Instruction - Initialization.

9. INSPECT FOR FUEL LEAK Installation
