Installation





2AR-FE FUEL: FUEL INJECTOR: INSTALLATION

1. INSTALL FUEL INJECTOR ASSEMBLY

(a) Apply a light coat of gasoline or spindle oil to new O-rings, and then install one to each fuel injector.

(b) Apply a light coat of gasoline or spindle oil to the part of the fuel delivery pipe which comes into contact with the O-ring of the fuel injector.

(c) Apply a light coat of gasoline or spindle oil to the O-ring again, and then install the fuel injectors to the fuel delivery pipe.

NOTICE:
Make sure that the O-ring is not cracked or jammed when installing the injector.

(d) Check that the fuel injector rotates smoothly. If the fuel injector does not rotate, replace the O-ring.

2. INSTALL FUEL DELIVERY PIPE SUB-ASSEMBLY

(a) Install 4 new injector vibration insulators to the cylinder head.

(b) Install the 2 fuel delivery spacers to the cylinder head.

HINT
Install the fuel delivery spacer so that the longer protrusion is on the cylinder head side.





(c) Install the fuel delivery pipe together with the 4 fuel injectors to the cylinder head, and then temporarily install the 2 bolts.

NOTICE:
Be careful not to drop the fuel injectors when installing the fuel delivery pipe.

(d) Check that the fuel injector rotates smoothly.

If the fuel injector does not rotate, replace the O-ring.

(e) Tighten the 2 bolts to the specified torque.

Torque : 21 Nm (214 kgf-cm, 15 ft-lbf)

3. CONNECT WIRE HARNESS

(a) Attach the clamp to connect the wire harness.





(b) Install the 3 wire harness brackets with the 3 bolts.

for bolt A - Torque : 9.0 Nm (92 kgf-cm, 80 in-lbf)

for bolt B - Torque : 10 Nm (102 kgf-cm, 7 ft-lbf)

(c) Connect the 2 connectors.

(d) Connect the 4 fuel injector connectors.

4. CONNECT FUEL TUBE SUB-ASSEMBLY

(a) Connect the fuel tube.

(b) Push the fuel tube connector until it makes a "click" sound.

(c) Install a new No. 2 fuel pipe clamp.

5. CONNECT FUEL HOSE BRACKET

(a) Connect the fuel hose bracket with the bolt.

Torque : 7.0 Nm (71 kgf-cm, 62 in-lbf)

NOTICE:
If the fuel hose is detached from the clamp shown in the illustration, the clamp cannot be reused.

6. INSTALL AIR CLEANER CAP SUB-ASSEMBLY Installation

7. INSTALL OUTER COWL TOP PANEL

(a) Install the outer cowl top panel with the 9 bolts.

9. CONNECT CABLE TO NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL

NOTICE:
When disconnecting the cable, some systems need to be initialized after the cable is reconnected Repair Instruction - Initialization.

10. INSPECT FOR FUEL LEAK

(a) Make sure that there are no fuel leaks after performing maintenance on the fuel system.

(1) Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.

(2) Turn the ignition switch to ON, and then turn the Techstream on.

NOTICE:
Do not start the engine.

(3) Enter the following menus: Powertrain / Engine and ECT / Active Test / Control the Fuel Pump / Speed.

(4) Check that there are no leaks from the fuel system.

If there are fuel leaks, repair or replace parts as necessary.

(5) Turn the ignition switch off.

(6) Disconnect the Techstream from the DLC3.
