FRONT SUSPENSION: FRONT SUSPENSION MEMBER: INSTALLATION

1. TEMPORARILY INSTALL FRONT NO. 1 LOWER SUSPENSION ARM SUB-ASSEMBLY LH

(a) Temporarily install the front No. 1 lower suspension arm sub-assembly LH to the front suspension crossmember with the 2 bolts and nut.

NOTICE:
Because the nut has its own stopper, do not turn the nut. Tighten the bolt with the nut secured.

2. TEMPORARILY INSTALL FRONT NO. 1 LOWER SUSPENSION ARM SUB-ASSEMBLY RH

Use the same procedure described for the LH side.

3. INSTALL STEERING LINK ASSEMBLY Installation

4. INSTALL FRONT STABILIZER BAR Installation

5. INSTALL FRONT SUSPENSION MEMBER FRONT BRACE LH Installation

6. INSTALL FRONT SUSPENSION MEMBER FRONT BRACE RH Installation

7. INSTALL FRONT CROSSMEMBER SUB-ASSEMBLY

(a) Using a transmission jack, support the engine assembly with transaxle.





(b) Install the front crossmember sub-assembly with the 4 bolts.





Torque : 96 Nm (979 kgf-cm, 71 ft-lbf)

(c) Connect the engine mounting insulator with the 2 bolts.





Torque : 95 Nm (969 kgf-cm, 70 ft-lbf)

NOTICE:
Temporarily tighten bolt B, and then fully tighten the 2 bolts in the order of A and B.

8. INSTALL FRONT SUSPENSION CROSSMEMBER SUB-ASSEMBLY

(a) Place wooden blocks or plate lift attachments on an engine lifter, and then set the front suspension crossmember sub-assembly so that the attachments are in the positions shown in the illustration.

NOTICE:
* Place the wooden blocks or plate lift attachments so that the front suspension crossmember sub-assembly is level.
* As the front suspension crossmember sub-assembly is very heavy, be sure to support it securely.

(b) While inserting SST into the reference holes on the front suspension crossmember RH and LH alternately, tighten the 2 bolts labeled A, the 2 bolts labeled B and C, and the 2 nuts on the RH and LH sides to their respective specified torque values in several steps.

Bolt A - Torque : 145 Nm (1479 kgf-cm, 107 ft-lbf)

Bolt B, C, Nut D, E - Torque : 95 Nm (969 kgf-cm, 70 ft-lbf)

NOTICE:
Temporarily tighten bolt B, and then fully tighten the 2 bolts and 2 nuts in the order of C, E, D, and B.

9. INSTALL FRONT SUSPENSION MEMBER REAR BRACE LH

(a) Install the front suspension member rear brace LH with the 3 bolts.





Bolt A - Torque : 145 Nm (1479 kgf-cm, 107 ft-lbf)

Bolt B - Torque : 93 Nm (948 kgf-cm, 69 ft-lbf)

10. INSTALL FRONT SUSPENSION MEMBER REAR BRACE RH

HINT
Use the same procedure described for the LH side.

11. INSTALL FRONT SUSPENSION MEMBER REINFORCEMENT LH

(a) Install the rear side rail reinforcement sub-assembly LH with the 4 bolts.





Torque : 96 Nm (979 kgf-cm, 71 ft-lbf)

NOTICE:
Temporarily tighten bolts A and B, and then fully tighten the 4 bolts in the order of C, B, D and A.

12. INSTALL FRONT SUSPENSION MEMBER REINFORCEMENT RH

Use the same procedure described for the LH side.

Torque : 103 Nm (1050 kgf-cm, 76 ft-lbf)

31. TIGHTEN FRONT NO. 1 LOWER SUSPENSION ARM SUB-ASSEMBLY LH Installation
