Removal





DOOR / HATCH: HOOD LOCK CONTROL CABLE ASSEMBLY: REMOVAL

1. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL

NOTICE:
When disconnecting the cable, some systems need to be initialized after the cable is reconnected Repair Instruction - Initialization.

2. REMOVE RADIATOR SUPPORT OPENING COVER Removal

3. REMOVE FRONT FENDER LINER LH

(a) Remove the front fender liner Removal.

4. REMOVE HOOD LOCK ASSEMBLY

(a) Remove the 3 bolts and hood lock.





(b) Disconnect the hood lock control cable.





5. REMOVE HOOD LOCK CONTROL LEVER SUB-ASSEMBLY

(a) Detach the 3 claws.





(b) Disconnect the hood lock control cable and remove the hood lock control lever.

6. REMOVE HOOD LOCK CONTROL CABLE ASSEMBLY

(a) Tie a string to the end of the hood lock control cable assembly as shown in the illustration.

NOTICE:
Use a length of string long enough to pass through the engine compartment.

(b) Using a screwdriver, disconnect the clamps shown in the illustration.

HINT
Tape the screwdriver tip before use.

(c) Pull the cable out of the wheel housing from outside of the vehicle, and then untie the string and remove the cable.
