E351 MANUAL TRANSAXLE: TRANSMISSION CONTROL CABLE: INSTALLATION

INSTALLATION

1. INSTALL TRANSMISSION CONTROL CABLE ASSEMBLY





(a) Install the transmission control cable assembly with the 2 nuts and bolt.
Torque: 5.0 Nm (51 kgf-cm, 44 in-lbf)





(b) Install the transmission control cable assembly to the control cable bracket with 2 new clips.
(c) Install the transmission control cable assembly to the transaxle with the 2 clips.





(d) Connect the control cable to the shift lever retainer.

CAUTION:
- The projecting part of the cable outer should face outside when the shift cable is connected.
- After installation, make sure that the cable outer lock is projecting from A as shown in the illustration.





(e) Install the control select cable to the shift lever assembly.
(f) Install the control shift cable to the shift lever assembly.

4. INSTALL FRONT NO. 2 CONSOLE BOX INSERT Installation
5. INSTALL FRONT NO. 1 CONSOLE BOX INSERT Installation
6. INSTALL INSTRUMENT CLUSTER FINISH CENTER LOWER PANEL Installation
7. INSTALL SHIFT LEVER KNOB SUB-ASSEMBLY Installation
8. INSTALL NO. 1 FRONT FLOOR HEAT INSULATOR





(a) Install the No. 1 front floor heat insulator with the 3 nuts.
Torque: 5.5 Nm (56 kgf-cm, 49 in-lbf)
9. INSTALL CENTER EXHAUST PIPE ASSEMBLY Installation
10. INSTALL FRONT FLOOR CENTER BRACE Installation
11. INSTALL AIR CLEANER ASSEMBLY Installation
12. INSPECT FOR EXHAUST GAS LEAK
