DRIVE SHAFT: FRONT DRIVE SHAFT ASSEMBLY: INSTALLATION

INSTALLATION

1. INSTALL FRONT DRIVE SHAFT ASSEMBLY LH





(a) Using a brass bar and hammer, align the shaft splines in the drive shaft.

NOTICE:
- Coat the splines of the inboard joint shaft with automatic transaxle fluid for an automatic transaxle, or manual transaxle gear oil for a manual transaxle.
- Set the snap ring with the opening side facing downwards.
- Do not damage the oil seal, boot and dust cover.

2. INSTALL FRONT DRIVE SHAFT ASSEMBLY RH





(a) Align the shaft splines and install the drive shaft with 2 bolts.
Torque: 64 Nm (650 kgf-cm, 47 ft-lbf)

NOTICE:
- Coat the splines of the inboard joint shaft with automatic transaxle fluid for an automatic transaxle, or manual transaxle gear oil for a manual transaxle.
- Do not damage the oil seal, boot and dust cover.
NOTICE: Do not damage the oil seal, boot and dust cover.





3. INSTALL FRONT AXLE ASSEMBLY LH
(a) Align the matchmarks and install the front drive shaft assembly onto the front steering knuckle with axle hub.

NOTICE:
- Do not push the steering knuckle with axle hub further out of the vehicle than necessary.
- Check for any foreign matter on the speed sensor rotor and insertion part.
- Do not damage the oil seal, drive shaft boot or speed sensor rotor.

4. INSTALL FRONT AXLE ASSEMBLY RH
HINT: Use the same procedure as for the LH side.

5. INSTALL FRONT LOWER NO. 1 SUSPENSION ARM SUB-ASSEMBLY LH Installation
6. INSTALL FRONT LOWER NO. 1 SUSPENSION ARM SUB-ASSEMBLY RH
HINT: Use the same procedure as for the LH side.

7. INSTALL TIE ROD END SUB-ASSEMBLY LH Installation
8. INSTALL TIE ROD END SUB-ASSEMBLY RH
HINT: Use the same procedure as for the LH side.

9. INSTALL FRONT STABILIZER LINK ASSEMBLY LH Installation
10. INSTALL FRONT STABILIZER LINK ASSEMBLY RH
HINT: Use the same procedure as for the LH side.

11. INSTALL FRONT SPEED SENSOR LH Installation
12. INSTALL FRONT SPEED SENSOR RH
HINT: Use the same procedure as for the LH side.

13. INSTALL FRONT AXLE HUB NUT LH Installation
14. INSTALL FRONT AXLE HUB NUT RH
HINT: Use the same procedure as for the LH side.

15. INSTALL FRONT WHEEL
Torque: 103 Nm (1,050 kgf-cm, 76 ft-lbf)
16. ADD AUTOMATIC TRANSAXLE FLUID (for Automatic Transaxle)
17. ADD MANUAL TRANSAXLE OIL (for Manual Transaxle)
18. INSPECT AUTOMATIC TRANSAXLE FLUID (for Automatic Transaxle) Procedures
19. INSPECT MANUAL TRANSAXLE OIL (for Manual Transaxle) Testing and Inspection
20. INSPECT FOR AUTOMATIC TRANSAXLE FLUID LEAK (for Automatic Transaxle)
21. INSPECT FOR MANUAL TRANSAXLE OIL LEAK (for Manual Transaxle)
22. INSPECT AND ADJUST FRONT WHEEL ALIGNMENT
HINT: Front Wheel Alignment

23. CHECK ABS SPEED SENSOR SIGNAL
HINT: Test Mode Procedure

24. INSTALL REAR ENGINE UNDER COVER LH
25. INSTALL REAR ENGINE UNDER COVER RH
26. INSTALL NO. 1 ENGINE UNDER COVER
