SEAT BELT: FRONT SEAT OUTER BELT ASSEMBLY: INSTALLATION
INSTALLATION
HINT:
- Use the same procedures for the RH side and LH side.
- The procedures listed below are for the LH side.
- A bolt without a torque specification is shown in the standard bolt chart Standard Bolt - Specified Torque For Standard Bolts.
1. INSTALL FRONT SEAT OUTER BELT ASSEMBLY LH
(a) Install the outer belt with the 3 bolts.
Torque: 4.9 Nm (50 kgf-cm, 43 in-lbf)for bolt A
Torque: 42 Nm (428 kgf-cm, 31 ft-lbf)for bolt B
(b) Install the floor anchor with the bolt.
Torque: 42 Nm (428 kgf-cm, 31 ft-lbf)for bolt C
(c) Connect the pretensioner connector as shown in the illustration.
(d) With the belt installed, check that the belt locks when it is pulled out quickly.
NOTE: The check should be performed with the outer belt assembly installed.
If the operation is not as specified, replace the outer belt.
(e) Check the fastening function of the child restraint system.
NOTE: The check should be performed with the outer belt installed.
(1) When the belt is pulled out fully, the belt should automatically try to retract.
(2) After the belt has fully retracted, the belt should be able to be pulled out and retracted again.
If the operation is not as specified, replace the belt.
2. INSTALL CENTER PILLAR GARNISH LH Installation
3. INSTALL SIDE NO. 1 TRIM ASSEMBLY LH Installation
4. INSTALL FRONT DOOR SCUFF PLATE LH Installation
5. INSTALL REAR SEATBACK ASSEMBLY LH Installation
6. INSTALL REAR SEAT CUSHION ASSEMBLY Installation
7. CONNECT CABLE TO NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL
8. PERFORM INITIALIZATION
(a) Perform initialization Testing and Inspection.
NOTE: Certain systems need to be initialized after disconnecting and reconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal.
