Control Cable Cannot Be Removed

B. Control unit cannot be removed.

Removal






1 Remove cover in trunk left.


2 Force off plastic cap for emergency crank drive and unscrew the hex nut (17 mm) underneath, while holding shaft of gear unit in position by means of an open-end wrench (6 mm) at the place provided for this purpose.






3 Unscrew fastening screws on holder and pull off electrical connection on sun roof motor.

4 Remove plastic cover from holder.

5 Slightly turn holeer with motor and unscrew gear unit housing on back.

6 Remove gear unit cover, unclipping holding clamp for this purpose, and remove gearwheel.

7 Remove holder with motor and gear unit.

8 Pull control cable forward out of tube.



Installation






9 Assemble gear unit.

10 Install holder with motor and gear unit.


NOTE: When fastening both tubes with clips, make sure that the bead on tube slips into groove on gear unit.


11 For further installation proceed in reverse order.
