SYSTEM DESCRIPTION

This circuit detects the conditions of the mirror retract switch.

The outer mirror switch sends information about the operating condition of the mirror retract switch (switch input signals) through the CAN (can communication) line. Then the switch input signals are sent to the front door ECU LH and RH.

1. CHECK DTC

(a) Use the Techstream to check if the CAN communication system is functioning normally.

2. READ VALUE USING TECHSTREAM (MIRROR RETRACT SWITCH)

(a) Check the Data List for proper functioning of the mirror retract switch.

On screen, each item changes between ON and OFF according to above chart.

NG -- REPLACE OUTER MIRROR SWITCH ASSEMBLY Removal
OK -- Continue to next step.

3. PERFORM ACTIVE TEST USING TECHSTREAM (MIRROR RETRACT FUNCTION)

(a) Select the Active Test, use the Techstream to generate a control command, and then check the mirror retract function.

4. INSPECT OUTER REAR VIEW MIRROR ASSEMBLY LH





(a) Remove the mirror LH Removal.

(b) For each mirror position: Disconnect the battery, set the mirror position by hand, connect the battery, and check the retractable mirror's movement.

NOTICE:
* Disconnect and reconnect the battery once between each mirror position check.
* The mirror position cannot be changed manually when the battery is connected. To change the mirror position manually, the battery must be disconnected first.

5. INSPECT OUTER REAR VIEW MIRROR ASSEMBLY RH





(a) Remove the mirror RH Removal.

(b) For each mirror position: Disconnect the battery, set the mirror position by hand, connect the battery, and check the retractable mirror's movement.

NOTICE:
* Disconnect and reconnect the battery once between each mirror position check.
* The mirror position cannot be changed manually when the battery is connected. To change the mirror position manually, the battery must be disconnected first.
