DESCRIPTION

w/ Manual (SOS) Switch

Using this circuit, the telematics transceiver sends power to the map light assembly (telephone microphone assembly), and the map light assembly (telephone microphone assembly) sends microphone signals to the display and navigation module display via the telematics transceiver. The display and navigation module display and map light assembly (telephone microphone assembly) are connected to each other using the microphone connection detection signal lines.

Using this circuit, the telematics transceiver sends power to the map light assembly (telephone microphone assembly), and the map light assembly (telephone microphone assembly) sends microphone signals to the display and navigation module display. The display and navigation module display and map light assembly (telephone microphone assembly) are connected to each other using the microphone connection detection signal lines.

INSPECTION PROCEDURE

PROCEDURE

1. INSPECT DISPLAY AND NAVIGATION MODULE DISPLAY

(a) Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

2. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (DISPLAY AND NAVIGATION MODULE DISPLAY - MAP LIGHT ASSEMBLY)

(a) Disconnect the L59 display and navigation module display connector.

(b) Disconnect the X4 map light assembly connector.

(c) Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

Standard Resistance:

3. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (DISPLAY AND NAVIGATION MODULE DISPLAY - TELEMATICS TRANSCEIVER)

(a) Disconnect the L59 display and navigation module display connector.

(b) Disconnect the L111 telematics transceiver connector.

(c) Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

Standard Resistance:





NG -- REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR
OK -- Continue to next step.

4. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (TELEMATICS TRANSCEIVER - MAP LIGHT ASSEMBLY)

(a) Disconnect the L111 telematics transceiver connector.

(b) Disconnect the X4 map light assembly connector.

(c) Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

Standard Resistance:





NG -- REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR
OK -- Continue to next step.

5. CHECK TELEMATICS TRANSCEIVER

(a) Reconnect the L111 telematics transceiver connector.





(b) Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

Standard Voltage:

6. CHECK MAP LIGHT ASSEMBLY

(a) Disconnect the X4 map light assembly connector.





(b) Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

7. CHECK MAP LIGHT ASSEMBLY

(a) Reconnect the L59 display and navigation module display connector.





(b) Reconnect the L111 telematics transceiver connector.

(c) Reconnect the X4 map light assembly connector.

(d) Turn the engine switch on (ACC).

(e) Connect an oscilloscope to terminals 21 (MI1+) and 20 (MIC-) of the X4 telephone microphone assembly connector.

(f) Check the waveform of the telephone microphone assembly using the oscilloscope.

(b) Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

11. CHECK MAP LIGHT ASSEMBLY

(a) Reconnect the L59 display and navigation module display connector.





(b) Reconnect the X4 map light assembly connector.

(c) Turn the engine switch on (ACC).

(d) Connect an oscilloscope to terminals 21 (MI1+) and 20 (MIC-) of the X4 telephone microphone assembly connector.

(e) Check the waveform of the telephone microphone assembly using the oscilloscope.
