DTC B2342 - Switch Failure

DESCRIPTION

This DTC is output when the sliding roof drive gear (sliding roof ECU) detects that the SLIDE OPEN or TILT UP switch in the map light is stuck for 30 seconds or more.

INSPECTION PROCEDURE

PROCEDURE

1. READ VALUE USING TECHSTREAM (SLIDING ROOF SWITCH)
(a) Use the Data List to check if the sliding roof switch is functioning properly.

Sliding Roof





OK:
"Not Fail" appears on screen.
NG -- INSPECT MAP LIGHT ASSEMBLY (SLIDING ROOF SWITCH)
OK -- Continue to next step.

2. CHECK SLIDING ROOF FUNCTION
(a) Check the AUTO operation with the switch Operation Check.
OK:
AUTO operation operates normally.
NG -- PERFORM INITIALIZATION (SLIDING ROOF DRIVE GEAR)
OK -- Continue to next step.

3. CLEAR DTC
(a) Clear the DTC Reading and Clearing Diagnostic Trouble Codes.
NEXT -- END
4. INSPECT MAP LIGHT ASSEMBLY (SLIDING ROOF SWITCH)




(a) Remove the map light Removal.
(b) Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.
Standard resistance:






OK -- CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (SLIDING ROOF DRIVE GEAR - MAP LIGHT)
NG -- Continue to next step.

5. REPLACE MAP LIGHT ASSEMBLY (SLIDING ROOF SWITCH)
(a) Temporarily replace the map light (sliding roof switch) with a new or normally functioning one for standard body Removal or long body Removal.
NEXT -- Continue to next step.

6. CLEAR DTC
(a) Clear the DTC Reading and Clearing Diagnostic Trouble Codes.
NEXT -- END
7. PERFORM INITIALIZATION (SLIDING ROOF DRIVE GEAR)
(a) Check that the sliding roof drive gear can be initialized Initialization.
OK:
Sliding roof drive gear can be initialized.
NG -- CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (SLIDING ROOF DRIVE GEAR - MAP LIGHT)
OK -- Continue to next step.

8. CHECK SLIDING ROOF FUNCTION
(a) Check the AUTO operation with the switch Operation Check.
OK:
AUTO operation operates normally.
NG -- REPLACE SLIDING ROOF DRIVE GEAR SUB-ASSEMBLY (SLIDING ROOF ECU)
OK -- Continue to next step.

9. CLEAR DTC
(a) Clear the DTC Reading and Clearing Diagnostic Trouble Codes.
NEXT -- END
10. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (SLIDING ROOF DRIVE GEAR - MAP LIGHT)




(a) Disconnect the X5 drive gear connector.
(b) Disconnect the X4 and X6 map light connectors.
(c) Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.
Standard resistance:






NG -- REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR
OK -- REPLACE SLIDING ROOF DRIVE GEAR SUB-ASSEMBLY (SLIDING ROOF ECU)
