A760E AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION: EXTENSION HOUSING REAR OIL SEAL: REPLACEMENT

1. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL
CAUTION:
Wait at least 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal to prevent airbag and seat belt pretensioner activation.

2. REMOVE PROPELLER WITH CENTER BEARING SHAFT ASSEMBLY
(a) Remove the propeller with center bearing shaft Removal.
3. REMOVE AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION FLANGE YOKE ASSEMBLY





(a) Using SST and a hammer, loosen the staked part of the nut.
SST: 09930-00010
HINT:
Move the shift lever to the P position.





(b) Set SST.

(c) Using SST and a 30 mm socket wrench, remove the nut.
(d) Remove SST.
(e) Tap the output flange with a plastic-faced hammer to remove it.






(f) Using a screwdriver, pry out the oil seal from the automatic transmission flange yoke.






4. REMOVE AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION EXTENSION HOUSING OIL SEAL
(a) Using SST, tap out the oil seal.

5. INSTALL AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION EXTENSION HOUSING OIL SEAL
(a) Coat the lip of a new oil seal with MP grease.






(b) Using SST and a hammer, tap in the oil seal with the lip facing inside of the automatic transmission.

Standard depth:
2.0 +-0.2 mm (0.079 +-0.008 in.)
6. INSTALL AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION FLANGE YOKE ASSEMBLY





(a) Using SST and a hammer, tap in a new oil seal.
SST: 09517-36010
(b) Install the automatic transmission flange yoke.






(c) Set SST.

(d) Using SST and a 30 mm socket wrench, install and tighten a new nut.
Torque: 126 Nm (1285 kgf-cm, 93 ft-lbf)
(e) Using a chisel and hammer, securely stake the nut.
7. INSTALL PROPELLER WITH CENTER BEARING SHAFT ASSEMBLY
(a) Install the propeller with center bearing shaft Installation.
8. CONNECT CABLE TO NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL
9. ADJUST AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION FLUID
(a) Add automatic transmission fluid A760E Automatic Transmission.
10. PERFORM INITIALIZATION
(a) Perform initialization Repair Instruction - Initialization.
NOTICE:
Certain systems need to be initialized after disconnecting and reconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal.
