Installation

DOOR / HATCH: HOOD SUPPORT: INSTALLATION

1. INSTALL HOOD SUPPORT BRACKET (for LH Side)

(a) Clean the threaded portion on the vehicle body with a non-residue solvent.

(b) Apply adhesive to the threads of the bolt.

Adhesive:

Toyota Genuine Adhesive 1324, Three Bond 1324 or equivalent

(c) Install the hood support bracket with the bolt.

Torque : 7.5 Nm (76 kgf-cm, 66 in-lbf)





(d) Engage the clamp.

2. INSTALL HOOD SUPPORT BRACKET (for RH Side)

(a) Clean the threaded portion on the vehicle body with a non-residue solvent.

(b) Apply adhesive to the threads of the bolt.

Adhesive:

Toyota Genuine Adhesive 1324, Three Bond 1324 or equivalent

(c) Install the hood support bracket with the bolt.

Torque : 7.5 Nm (76 kgf-cm, 66 in-lbf)





3. INSTALL HOOD SUPPORT ASSEMBLY

NOTICE:
* Avoid touching the piston rod as much as possible to prevent foreign matter from attaching to it. Be sure to hold the cylinder while servicing.
* Do not wear cotton gloves or other similar materials when handling the piston rod. Fibers may attach to the rod and result in gas leaks.
* In order to prevent the piston rod from deforming, do not apply any horizontal load to the door stay.

(a) When reusing the hood support assembly:

(1) Install the 2 stop rings to the hood support assembly.





(b) Install the hood support assembly.





NOTICE:
Install the hood support assembly while supporting the hood by hand.

(c) Check that the hood support assembly is engaged in the ball joint and it cannot be pulled out.

5. INSTALL WINDSHIELD WIPER MOTOR AND LINK ASSEMBLY Installation

6. INSTALL COWL TOP VENTILATOR LOUVER SUB-ASSEMBLY Installation

7. INSTALL FRONT WIPER ARM AND BLADE ASSEMBLY RH Installation

8. INSTALL FRONT WIPER ARM AND BLADE ASSEMBLY LH Installation

9. INSTALL FRONT WIPER ARM HEAD CAP Installation

10. INSTALL FRONT FENDER TO COWL SIDE SEAL LH Installation

11. INSTALL FRONT FENDER TO COWL SIDE SEAL RH Installation

12. INSTALL FRONT FENDER TOP REINFORCEMENT SUB-ASSEMBLY LH Installation

13. INSTALL FRONT FENDER TOP REINFORCEMENT SUB-ASSEMBLY RH Installation

14. INSTALL COOL AIR INTAKE DUCT SEAL Installation

15. INSTALL ENGINE ROOM SIDE COVER Installation

16. INSTALL ENGINE ROOM SIDE COVER LH Installation
