DTC Logic
DTC DETECTION LOGIC
NOTE:
If two or more DTCs are detected, refer to "DTC Inspection Priority Chart" Related Tests, Information and Procedures, and determine trouble diagnosis order.
DTC CONFIRMATION PROCEDURE
1. PERFORM DTC CONFIRMATION PROCEDURE
1.Start engine.
2.Operate retractable hard top to fully open and fully close.
3.Check DTC.
Is DTC detected?
YES- Go to "Diagnosis Procedure" B170C.
NO- INSPECTION END
Diagnosis Procedure
1. CHECK ROOF LATCH STATUS SENSOR POWER SUPPLY CIRCUIT
1.Turn ignition switch OFF.
2.Disconnect roof latch assembly (roof latch status sensor) harness connector.
3.Turn ignition switch ON.
4.Check the voltage between roof latch assembly (roof latch status sensor) harness connector and ground.
Is the inspection result normal?
YES- GO TO 2.
NO- Repair or replace harness.
2. CHECK ROOF LATCH STATUS SENSOR GROUND CIRCUIT FOR OPEN AND SHORT
1.Turn ignition switch OFF.
2.Disconnect retractable hard top control unit harness connector.
3.Check the continuity between roof latch assembly (roof latch status sensor) harness connector and retractable hard top control unit harness connector.
4.Check harness for short to ground and short to power.
Is the inspection result normal?
YES- GO TO 3.
NO- Repair or replace harness.
3. REPLACE ROOF LATCH ASSEMBLY
Replace roof latch assembly. Refer to "ROOF LOCK ASSEMBLY : Removal and Installation" Removal and Installation.
Is the inspection result normal?
YES- INSPECTION END
NO- GO TO 4.
4. CHECK RETRACTABLE HARD TOP
Check retractable hard top mechanism deformation, looseness, rattle, interference with other parts, and pinched foreign materials. Refer to "Exploded View" Exploded View.
Is the inspection result normal?
YES- GO TO 5.
NO- Repair or replace malfunctioning part.
5. REPLACE RETRACTABLE HARD TOP CONTROL UNIT
Replace retractable hard top control unit. Refer to "Removal and Installation" Service and Repair.
Is the inspection result normal?
YES- INSPECTION END
NO- GO TO 6.
6. CHECK INTERMITTENT INCIDENT
Refer to "Intermittent Incident" Intermittent Incident.
