Diagnostic Overview
All Door Locks are Inoperative From the Door Lock Control Switch
Refer to Wiring Diagram Set 110 for schematic and connector information Electrical Diagrams.
Normal Operations and Fault Conditions
The BCM (Body Control Module) sends a voltage signal to the door lock control switch. When the door lock control switch is pressed, the voltage signal is routed to ground, signaling the BCM (Body Control Module) to lock or unlock the doors. The BCM (Body Control Module) monitors the door lock actuator positions and either locks or unlocks the doors depending upon their current state. If the doors are locked and the switch is pressed, the BCM (Body Control Module) unlocks the doors. If the doors are unlocked and the switch is pressed, the BCM (Body Control Module) locks the doors.

Visual Inspection and Diagnostic Pre-checks
- Door lock control switch
Pinpoint Test
1. CHECK THE OPERATION OF THE HAZARD LAMPS
1. Press the hazard switch.
Do the hazard lamps operate?
2. RETRIEVE THE DTCs (Diagnostic Trouble Codes) IN THE BCM (Body Control Module)
1. Using a scan tool, perform the BCM (Body Control Module) self-test to retrieve DTCs (Diagnostic Trouble Codes).
Is DTC (Diagnostic Trouble Code) B1222:11 or B1222:23 present?
3. CHECK THE DOOR LOCK CONTROL SWITCH FOR A SHORT TO GROUND
1. Disconnect: Door lock/hazard switch (vehicles with Sony(R) sound system).
2. Disconnect: FCIM (Front Controls Interface Module) (vehicles with premium sound system).
3. Using a scan tool, clear the BCM (Body Control Module) DTCs (Diagnostic Trouble Codes) and carry out the self-test.
Is DTC (Diagnostic Trouble Code) B1222:11 or B1222:23 retrieved again?
4. CHECK THE INPUT CIRCUIT FOR A SHORT TO GROUND
1. Ignition OFF.
2. Disconnect: BCM (Body Control Module) C2280C.
3. Measure:
Is the resistance greater than 10,000 ohms?
5. CHECK THE DOOR LOCK CONTROL SWITCH
1. Ignition OFF.
2. Disconnect: Door lock/hazard switch (vehicles with Sony(R) sound system).
3. Disconnect: FCIM (Front Controls Interface Module) (vehicles with premium sound system).
4. Listen to the door locks.
5. For vehicles with premium sound system, connect:
6. For vehicles with Sony(R) sound system, connect:
Do the doors lock and unlock with the jumper wire connected?
6. CHECK THE INPUT CIRCUIT FOR AN OPEN
1. Disconnect: BCM (Body Control Module) C2280C.
2. For vehicles with premium sound system, measure:
3. For vehicles with Sony(R) sound system, measure:
Is the resistance less than 3 ohms?
7. CHECK FOR CORRECT BCM (Body Control Module) OPERATION
1. Ignition OFF.
2. Disconnect and inspect all BCM (Body Control Module) connectors.
3. Repair:
- corrosion (install new connectors or terminals- clean module pins)
- damaged or bent pins- install new terminals pins
- pushed-out pins- install new pins as necessary
4. Reconnect all the BCM (Body Control Module) connectors and make sure they seat and latch correctly.
5. Operate the system and determine if the concern is still present.
Is the concern still present?
