Remote Function Actuator (RFA) Module













Removal and Installation

1. NOTE: This step is only necessary if the Remote Function Actuator (RFA) module is being replaced.

NOTE: Prior to the replacement of the module, it is necessary to upload the module configuration information to the scan tool. This information must be downloaded into the new module after installation. For additional information, refer to Module Configuration Module Configuration.

NOTE: The Programmable Module Installation (PMI) process does not include the Intelligent Access (IA) key programming into the new RFA module. After the PMI process has been completed, the IA keys need to be programmed into the new RFA module during ignition off. After the IA keys have been programmed into the new RFA module, the ignition must be turned to the ON mode in order to reset the parameters in the new RFA module and the PCM. Upload the module configuration information from the RFA module. For additional information, refer to Module Configuration Module Configuration.

2. Remove the passenger seat. For additional information, refer to Seating Seat - Front.

3. Disconnect the 5 RFA module electrical connectors.

4. Remove the 2 bolts and the RFA module and bracket assembly.
- To install, tighten to 10 Nm (89 lb-in).

5. To install, reverse the removal procedure.
- Program the IA keys into the new RFA module. For additional information, refer to Key Programming Using Diagnostic Equipment in Anti-Theft - Passive Anti-Theft System (PATS) Key Programming Using Diagnostic Equipment.
