Instrument Panel, Gauges and Warning Indicators
Diagnostic Routine AR
Diagnostic Overview
U0100:00
Normal Operation and Fault Conditions
NOTE: Once the IPC (Instrument Panel Cluster) sets DTC (Diagnostic Trouble Code) U0100:00, multiple gauges or indicators are likely to be inoperative in the IPC (Instrument Panel Cluster). Other modules that require data from the IPC (Instrument Panel Cluster) all set communication DTCs (Diagnostic Trouble Codes) and can also exhibit system function concerns.
DTC Fault Trigger Conditions
Pinpoint Test
1. VERIFY THE SCAN TOOL CAN COMMUNICATE WITH THE PCM (Powertrain Control Module)
1. Connect the scan tool.
2. Check that a vehicle session can be established using the scan tool.
Can a vehicle session be established?
2. CHECK THE IPC (Instrument Panel Cluster) CONTINUOUS MEMORY DTCs (Diagnostic Trouble Codes)
1. Ignition ON.
2. Using a scan tool, perform the IPC (Instrument Panel Cluster) self-test.
3. Clear the DTCs (Diagnostic Trouble Codes).
4. Wait 10 seconds.
5. Repeat the IPC (Instrument Panel Cluster) self-test.
Is DTC (Diagnostic Trouble Code) U0100:00 retrieved again?
3. RETRIEVE THE RECORDED DTCs (Diagnostic Trouble Codes) FROM THE PCM (Powertrain Control Module) KOEO (Key ON Engine OFF) SELF-TEST
1. Using a scan tool, perform the PCM (Powertrain Control Module) KOEO (Key ON Engine OFF) self-test.
Is DTC (Diagnostic Trouble Code) P0562 or P0563 recorded?
4. RETRIEVE THE RECORDED DTCs (Diagnostic Trouble Codes) FROM THE IPC (Instrument Panel Cluster) SELF-TEST
1. Using a scan tool, perform the IPC (Instrument Panel Cluster) self-test.
Are any DTCs (Diagnostic Trouble Codes) recorded?
5. CHECK FOR DTC (Diagnostic Trouble Code) U0100:00 SET IN OTHER MODULES
1. Ignition ON.
2. Using a scan tool, retrieve all continuous memory DTCs (Diagnostic Trouble Codes).
Is DTC (Diagnostic Trouble Code) U0100:00 set in the ABS (Anti-Lock Brake System) module or in the RCM (Restraints Control Module)?
