Diagnostic Notes (Read Before Proceding)

NOTE: For systematic diagnosis use Flow of Diagnosis. Diagnostic Strategies

NOTE: When using this section begin all diagnosis with Trouble Code (TC) Tests/Test TC-1A. TC-1A CODE TO TC TEST CHART (Checking For Trouble Codes)

This section includes all the information needed to diagnose Powertrain Control Module (PCM) problems. Included are;

- Trouble Code (TC Tests)

- No Trouble Code (NTC Tests)

- Speed Control (SC) System Tests

- Charging System No Code Tests

- No Start (NS Tests)

The Diagnostic Charts are based on the trouble condition or symptom being present at the time of diagnosis.

When replacement or repairs are required, see Service & Repair for the proper procedure.

NOTE: Diagnostic procedures change, and new diagnostic systems may be added or enhanced. FAMILIARIZE YOURSELF WITH THIS SECTION BEFORE TRYING TO DIAGNOSE A PROBLEM.

3. Analyze Problem
4. Isolate Problem
5. Repair Problem
6. Verify Proper Operation
