Center Mounted Brake Lamp - Installation
INSTALLATION
CHRYSLER - CONVERTIBLE
1. The deck lid (1) must be placed in the service position to perform the following procedure. . Convertible - Decklid Service Position
2. Position the Center High-Mounted Stop Lamp (CHMSL) (2) close enough to the inside of the deck lid CHMSL opening to access and reconnect the body wire harness connector (4) to the CHMSL connector receptacle.
3. Align and snap the CHMSL into the inside of the deck lid CHMSL opening.
4. Install and tighten the four screws (3) that secure the CHMSL to the deck lid inner reinforcement. Tighten the screws securely.
5. Reconnect the battery negative cable.
CHRYSLER - FOUR-DOOR
1. Position the Center High-Mounted Stop Lamp (CHMSL) (4) close enough to the roof rear header to access and reconnect the body wire harness connector (2) to the CHMSL connector receptacle.
2. While carefully pulling downward on the headliner, slide the CHMSL above the headliner and forward far enough to engage the two locator tabs (3) into the slots in the roof rear header.
3. While still carefully pulling downward on the headliner, press the rear of the CHMSL housing firmly upward far enough to engage the three snap clips that secure it to the roof rear header (1).
4. Press the headliner firmly and evenly upward far enough to engage the two snap clips that secure the headliner to the snap clip receptacles of the CHMSL housing.
5. Install two new rear headliner push pin retainers. Headliner - Installation.
6. Reinstall the interior trim onto both upper C-pillars. C-Pillar Trim Panel - Installation.
7. Reconnect the battery negative cable.
DODGE
1. With the deck lid (1) in the open position, align and snap the Center High-Mounted Stop Lamp (CHMSL) (2) into the inside of the deck lid CHMSL opening.
2. Install and tighten the two screws (3) that secure the CHMSL to the deck lid inner reinforcement. Tighten the screws securely.
3. Reconnect the body wire harness connector (4) to the CHMSL connector receptacle.
4. Reconnect the battery negative cable.
