Removal

ADJUSTABLE

1. Move driver's seat to full rearward position.
2. Access and remove knee blocker airbag. Knee Blocker Airbag - Removal




3. Remove datalink connector (2) from instrument panel lower left reinforcement (1).
4. Remove four screws securing instrument panel lower left reinforcement (1). Remove reinforcement.




5. Remove booster push rod (1) from pin on brake pedal. To do so:
a. Position small screwdriver between center tang on power brake booster brake pedal pin retaining clip (4).
b. Rotate screwdriver enough to allow retaining clip center tang to pass over end of brake pedal pin, then slide retaining clip off brake pedal pin.
c. Discard retaining clip. It is not to be reused. Install NEW retaining clip when assembling.
d. Slide booster push rod (1) off brake pedal pin.




6. Place front wheels and steering wheel in the STRAIGHT-AHEAD position. Lock steering wheel in place using steering wheel holder.




7. Disconnect steering column coupling at intermediate shaft. To do so:
a. Remove hair pin (7) at end of coupling pinch bolt.
b. Loosen nut and remove pinch bolt (8).
c. Remove intermediate shaft (1) from coupling.




8. Remove and discard stop lamp switch (1). Do not reuse switch; install NEW switch upon Installation. Removal




9. Disconnect wiring connector (2) at adjustable pedals motor (3).
10. Disconnect wiring connector (5) at electronic throttle control (accelerator) (4).
11. Disconnect wiring connector (1) at brake pedal position sensor (6).




12. Remove four power brake booster mounting nuts (2).




13. Remove two nuts (2) fastening pedals assembly (1) to upper dash panel bracket.




14. Pull back adjustable pedals assembly to access wiring harness clips (1) on right side of pedals assembly (3).
15. Remove harness clips (1) from right side of pedals assembly (3).




16. Remove adjustable pedals assembly.




17. If required, remove three electronic throttle control (accelerator) mounting screws (1). Remove electronic throttle control (2).
