8009 - LEFT FRONT TIRE PRESSURE SENSOR/TRANSMITTER SIGNAL JAMMED
When Monitored and Set Condition
- When Monitored: With the ignition ON, the Tire Pressure Monitor (TPM) monitors the Tire Pressure Sensor/Transmitters approximately once a minute (60 - 68 seconds) when the vehicle speed is above 33 km/h (20 MPH).
- Set Condition: If the Tire Pressure Monitor (TPM) module cannot process the frequency transmission from the Left Front Tire Pressure Sensor/Transmitter, the DTC will set.
Diagnostic Test
1. READING TPM DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODES
NOTE: DTC 8009 will always be set in conjunction with DTC 8004.
NOTE: Some environmental factors can cause a disruption in the Radio Frequency signal. Check for possible concerns and aftermarket accessories (cell phones, two way transmitters, etc.) that would compromise the Radio Frequency signal between the Tire Pressure Sensor and the TPM module.
Turn the ignition ON.
With the scan tool, read and record the TPM DTCs.
Inspect the area around the Left Front Tire and repair any disruptions as necessary.
