Oil Level Indicator Tube Replacement (LMM) (6.6L)

Removal Procedure




1. Remove the upper fan shroud. Refer to Engine Coolant Fan Upper Shroud Replacement (4.3L, 4.8L, 5.3L, 6.0L, 6.2L, 7.0L) (Service and Repair)Engine Coolant Fan Upper Shroud Replacement (6.6L) (Service and Repair).
2. Remove the upper oil fill tube bolt (1).




3. Remove the right engine mount and bracket. Refer to Engine Mount Replacement - Right Side (Service and Repair).
4. Remove the starter. Refer to Starter Replacement (V6) (Starter Replacement)Starter Replacement (4.8L/5.3L/6.0L) (Starter Replacement)Starter Replacement (6.6L) (Starter Replacement).
5. Remove the lower oil fill tube bolt (1).
6. Remove and discard the oil fill tube O-ring seal.

Installation Procedure




1. Install a NEW O-ring seal onto the oil fill tube.
2. Install the oil fill tube.

Caution: Refer to Fastener Caution (Fastener Caution).

3. Install the lower oil fill tube bolt (1) and tighten to 21 Nm (15 lb ft).
4. Install the starter. Refer to Starter Replacement (V6) (Starter Replacement)Starter Replacement (4.8L/5.3L/6.0L) (Starter Replacement)Starter Replacement (6.6L) (Starter Replacement).




5. Install the upper oil fill tube bolt (1) and tighten to 21 Nm (15 lb ft).
6. Install the right engine mount and bracket. Refer to Engine Mount Replacement - Right Side (Service and Repair).
7. Install the upper radiator fan shroud. Refer to Engine Coolant Fan Upper Shroud Replacement (4.3L, 4.8L, 5.3L, 6.0L, 6.2L, 7.0L) (Service and Repair)Engine Coolant Fan Upper Shroud Replacement (6.6L) (Service and Repair).
