Radiator Support: Service and Repair



Front End Panel Replacement

Removal Procedure





1. Raise and suitably support the hood.
2. Remove the hood hold open rod. Refer to Hood Hold-Open Rod Replacement (Service and Repair) .
3. Remove the radiator grille. Refer to Grille Replacement (Grille Replacement) in Exterior Trim.
4. Remove the 2 bolts (2) and the hood primary latch (1) from the front upper panel and position aside.




5. Disconnect the horn electrical connectors (1).
6. Remove the mounting bolt and the horn (2) from the vehicle.
7. Remove the 6 bolts which secure the front upper panel along the top.
8. Remove the 4 bolts and the 2 screws from the front of the front upper panel.
9. Remove the front upper panel from the vehicle.



Installation Procedure






Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in Cautions and Notices.

1. Install the front upper panel to the vehicle. Secure the front upper panel with the following fasteners:

* The 6 bolts along the top of the panel
* The 4 bolts along the front of the panel
* The 2 screws along the front of the panel

Tighten the front upper panel bolts to 20 N.m (15 lb ft).


2. Install the horn (2) to the vehicle. Secure the horn with the mounting bolt.

Tighten the horn mounting bolt to 10 N.m (89 lb in).

3. Connect the horn electrical connectors (1).




4. Install the hood primary latch (1) to the front upper panel. Secure the latch with the 2 bolts (2). Do not fully tighten the bolts.
5. Adjust the hood primary latch (1) in order to ensure that the striker shaft lines up with the center groove of the hood primary latch (1).
6. Adjust the hood primary latch in order to ensure that the hood is flush with the front fenders. Refer to Body Panel Adjustment (Adjustments) .

Tighten the hood latch retaining bolts to 10 N.m (7.5 lb ft).

7. Install the radiator grille. Refer to Grille Replacement (Grille Replacement) in Exterior Trim.
8. Install the hood hold open rod. Refer to Hood Hold-Open Rod Replacement (Service and Repair) .
9. Lower the hood.
