Headlining Trim Panel Replacement

Tools Required

J 21104-B (KM-475-B) Weatherstrip Remover Universal

Removal Procedure





Caution: Refer to Battery Disconnect Caution Battery Disconnect Caution.

1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
2. Remove the sunroof molding, if equipped.
3. Remove the passenger assist handles. Refer to Assist Handle Replacement Service and Repair.
4. Remove the plastic retaining clips in the headliner on the driver side.
5. Remove the sun visors. Refer to Sunshade Replacement Service and Repair.
6. Remove the power sunroof control switch, if equipped. Refer to Sunroof Switch Replacement Service and Repair.
7. Remove the windshield pillar. Refer to Windshield Pillar Garnish Molding Replacement Windshield Pillar Garnish Molding Replacement.
8. Remove the upper center pillar. Refer to Center Pillar Upper Trim Panel Replacement Center Pillar Upper Trim Panel Replacement.
9. Remove the rear quarter upper trim panel. Refer to Rear Quarter Upper Trim Panel Replacement (Sedan) Rear Quarter Upper Trim Panel Replacement (Sedan)Rear Quarter Upper Trim Panel Replacement (Wagon) Rear Quarter Upper Trim Panel Replacement (Wagon).




10. Remove the plastic retainers in the headliner using the J 21104-B .
11. Recline both front seats.
12. Remove the headliner.

Installation Procedure




1. Recline both front seats.
2. Install the headliner behind the seats around the doors.
3. Install the plastic retainers.
4. Install the windshield pillar. Refer to Windshield Pillar Garnish Molding Replacement Windshield Pillar Garnish Molding Replacement.
5. Install the upper center pillar. Refer to Center Pillar Upper Trim Panel Replacement Center Pillar Upper Trim Panel Replacement.
6. Install the rear quarter upper trim panel. Refer to Rear Quarter Upper Trim Panel Replacement (Sedan) Rear Quarter Upper Trim Panel Replacement (Sedan)Rear Quarter Upper Trim Panel Replacement (Wagon) Rear Quarter Upper Trim Panel Replacement (Wagon).
7. Install the power sunroof control switch, if equipped. Refer to Sunroof Switch Replacement Service and Repair.
8. Install the sun visors. Refer to Sunshade Replacement Service and Repair.
9. Install the plastic retainers in the headliner on the driver side.
10. Install the passenger assist handles. Refer to Assist Handle Replacement Service and Repair.
11. Install the sunroof molding, if equipped.
12. Connect the negative battery cable.
