High Mounted Stop Lamp Replacement (Wagon)

Removal Procedure





Caution: Refer to Battery Disconnect Caution Battery Disconnect Caution in Cautions and Notices.

1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
2. Open the lift gate.
3. Remove the lift gate trim cover screws.
4. Remove the lift gate trim cover.
5. Remove the lift gate lower garnish molding. Refer to Lower Garnish Molding Replacement - Liftgate (Sedan) Lower Garnish Molding Replacement - Liftgate (Sedan) in Interior Trim.




6. Disconnect the electrical connector.
7. Remove the rear wiper motor. Refer to Wiper Motor Replacement - Rear (Five Door) Wiper Motor Replacement - Rear (Five Door)Wiper Motor Replacement - Rear (Wagon) Wiper Motor Replacement - Rear (Wagon) in Wipers/Washers Systems.
8. Remove the license plate lamps bracket bolts and the nuts.
9. Remove the license plate lamps bracket.
10. Remove the station wagon door latch rod.




11. Remove the center high mounted stoplamp nuts.
12. Remove the center high mounted stoplamp.

Installation Procedure




1. Install the center high mounted stoplamp.

Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice Fastener Notice in Cautions and Notices.

2. Install the center high mounted stoplamp nuts.

Tighten the center high mounted stoplamp nuts to 4 Nm (35 lb in).




3. Install the license plate lamps bracket.
4. Install the license plate lamps bracket bolts and nuts.
5. Install the station wagon latch rod.
6. Install the rear wiper motor. Refer to Wiper Motor Replacement - Rear (Five Door) Wiper Motor Replacement - Rear (Five Door)Wiper Motor Replacement - Rear (Wagon) Wiper Motor Replacement - Rear (Wagon) in Wipers/Washers Systems.
7. Connect the electrical connector.




8. Install the lift gate lower garnish molding. Refer to Lower Garnish Molding Replacement - Liftgate (Sedan) Lower Garnish Molding Replacement - Liftgate (Sedan) in Interior Trim.
9. Install the lift gate trim cover.
10. Install the lift gate trim cover screws.
11. Connect the negative battery cable.
