DTC P0868
- Transmission Fluid Low Pressure - Malfunction

DTC P0869
- Transmission Fluid High Pressure - Malfunction

Circuit/System Description

This is an internal fault detection of the transmission control module (TCM).

Conditions for Running the DTC

The TCM detects a unusual shifting based on an internal calculation.

Conditions for Setting the DTC

P0868

The TCM has calculated a to low hydraulic pressure in the transmission hydraulic system.

P0869

The TCM has calculated a to high hydraulic pressure in the transmission hydraulic system.

Action Taken When the DTC Sets

DTCs P0868 and P0869 are Type A DTCs

Conditions for Clearing the DTC

Circuit/System Verification

1. Verify the transmission fluid level, color and odor is correct. Refer to Transmission Fluid Drain and Fill Transmission Fluid Drain and Fill.

If the fluid level, color or odor is not correct
Refer to Fluid Leak Diagnosis Fluid Leak Diagnosis

If the fluid level, color or odor is correct

2. Perform the Line Pressure Check Line Pressure Check to verify proper transmission line pressure.

If the line pressure not OK
Repair or replace the damaged component as necessary.

If the line pressure OK

3. Verify DTC P0868 or P0869 is not set.

If the DTC is set
Program the TCM.

If the DTC is not set

4. Verify the DTC does not set while operating the vehicle under the Conditions for Running the DTC.

If the DTC is set
Replace the K71 Transmission Control Module

If the DTC is not set

5. All OK.

Repair Instructions

Perform the Diagnostic Repair Verification Verification Tests after completing the repair.
