Shift Solenoid: Service and Repair





REPLACING ALL SOLENOID VALVES
Arrangement of Solenoid Valves
1 Solenoid valve
2 Solenoid valve
3 Solenoid valve
4 Solenoid valve
5 Solenoid valve
6 Solenoid valve for conv. lockup clutch
7 Pressure regulator
8 Pulse sender for mean turbine speed
9 Pulse sender for output speed
10 Temperature sensor




Remove
- Remove transmission oil pan, Service and Repair
- Remove valve body, Service and Repair
- Pull plugs (1...5) off of solenoid valves
- Do not pull on wires





- Unscrew screws (6...9)
- Take off holder (10)





- Pull out solenoid valves.

NOTE: Solenoid valves are identical.





- Remove solenoid valve (6).
- Pull off plugs (1 and 2) and unscrew screw (3).





- Take off holder (4)
- Pull out solenoid valve

Installation
- Install holder (4) with lightly curved side facing valve housing.

NOTE: Solenoid valve (6) has a white plug receptacle.

- Tightening to 3.6 ftlbs. (5 Nm).





- Reinstall solenoid valves and install holder (10) with curved side facing solenoid valves.
- Tightening to 3.6 ftlbs. (5 Nm).
- Refill transmission. Service and Repair
