Air Supply Unit Upper Section






Air Supply Unit Upper Section

Special tools, testers and auxiliary items required

Torque Wrench (V.A.G 1410)

Do not clean the air supply unit with chemical or with a high pressure cleaner.

Use a lint-free cloth to clean the air supply unit.

Make absolutely sure that no dirt enters the open air lines/air line connections, connectors and electrical connections.

Removing






- Remove the air supply unit, the bracket and the solenoid valve block. Refer to => [ Air Supply Unit with Solenoid Valve Block ] Air Supply Unit With Solenoid Valve Block.

- Free up the air line - 1 - at the retainers - 2 -. Push the locking rings - arrows - downward and remove the air line - 1 -.

- Push the locking ring - arrow - downward and remove the air line - 1 - to the solenoid valve block.






- Disconnect the connector - 1 - from the level control system solenoid (N111) and free up the wire.






- Loosen the bolt - 1 - and remove the level control pump temperature sensor (G290) - 2 -.






- Remove the bolts - arrows -.






- Carefully remove the air supply unit upper section - 1 - from the air supply unit lower section - 2 -.






- Remove the O-ring - 3 - and clean the contact surface.

Be careful not to get any dirt in the compression chamber while cleaning the contact surface.

Installing

Install in reverse order of removal. Note the following:
