Air Supply Unit With Solenoid Valve Block






Air Supply Unit with Solenoid Valve Block

Special tools, testers and auxiliary items required

Torque Wrench 5-50 Nm (V.A.G 1331)

Torque Wrench (V.A.G 1783)

Standard socket open end 12 mm

Removing

- Place vehicle on hoist. Refer to => [ Positioning Vehicle on Hoist and Wheels ] Positioning Vehicle on Hoist and Wheels.

- Perform system vent on front/rear axle and pressure reservoir with (VAS 5051B). Refer to => [ System, Venting or Filling ] System, Venting or Filling.

- Remove right underbody trim.

- Disconnect intake line - 1 - at clutch.






- Disconnect the connectors - 1 - to - 3 -.






- Remove air lines - 2 - to - 6 - from solenoid valve block.






1. Black, internal air line between solenoid valve block and compressor

2. Green, air line toward right front air spring shock absorber

3. Red, air line toward left rear air spring shock absorber

4. Violet, air line to left front air spring damper

5. Blue, air line toward pressure reservoirs

6. Yellow, air line toward right rear air spring shock absorber


- Remove bolts - arrows - and air supply unit with solenoid valve block.






Installing

Install in reverse order of removal. Note the following:

Tightening specifications, refer to => [ Air Supply Unit and Solenoid Valve Block Overview ] Air Supply Unit and Solenoid Valve Block Overview

- Place vehicle on wheels, refer to => [ Positioning Vehicle on Hoist and Wheels ] Positioning Vehicle on Hoist and Wheels.

If the air supply unit was replaced, then the level control system compressor relay (J403) must also be replaced.
