Lower Right Intake Manifold

Removing

Follow the guidelines for a clean working environment when working on the fuel system. Refer to => [ Clean Working Conditions ] Clean Working Conditions.

Always follow these rules before and during work.

- Remove engine cover. Refer to => [ Engine Cover ] Service and Repair.

- Remove the intake manifold upper section. Refer to => [ Upper Intake Manifold ] Upper Intake Manifold.

- Remove the bolts - arrows - and the high pressure line protective plate.






- Remove the union nuts - 1 and 4 - and remove the high pressure line.

Ignore - 2 and 3 -.

- Disconnect the connector - 2 - from the Exhaust Gas Recirculation (EGR) cooler pump (V400).






- Remove the bolts - 1 -.

- Remove the connectors - 1 and 2 - from the bracket.






- Disconnect the connector - 3 - on the intake flap motor (V157).

- Press the connecting rod - 1 - off the intake flap motor.






Carefully press the connecting rod off the ball studs.

- Remove the bolts - 4 -.

Ignore - 2 -.

- Disconnect the glow plug connectors for cylinders 1, 2 and 3.

- Press the electrical wiring harness to the side.

- Remove the bolts - arrows -.






- Press the coolant pipe to the side and remove the intake manifold lower section.

Ignore - 1 -.

Seal the intake channels in cylinder head using a clean rag.

Installing

Tightening specifications: Intake manifold assembly overview, refer to => [ Intake Manifold Overview ] Intake Manifold Overview.

Install in reverse order, paying attention to the following:

Replace the seals

- Install the upper intake manifold. Refer to => [ Upper Intake Manifold ] Upper Intake Manifold.

- High pressure lines, installing. Refer to => [ High Pressure Lines, Installing ] High Pressure Lines, Installing.

- Inspect the fuel system for leaks. Refer to => [ Fuel System, Bleeding and Checking for Leaks ] Procedures.
