Upper Intake Manifold

Removing

Follow the guidelines for a clean working environment when working on the fuel system. Refer to => [ Clean Working Conditions ] Clean Working Conditions.

Always follow these rules before and during work.

- Remove engine cover. Refer to => [ Engine Cover ] Service and Repair.

- Pull the oil dipstick - 1 - out of the guide tube.

- Remove the coolant hose by loosening the hose clamp - 3 -.






- Disconnect the connector - 4 -.

- Remove the clamp bolts - arrows - and then remove the clamps.






- Remove the union nuts - 1 and 4 - and remove the high pressure line.

Ignore - 2 and 3 -.

- Remove the engine cover bolts - 1 and 3 -.






- Remove the bolts - arrows - and remove the upper section of the intake manifold.

Installing

Install in reverse order, paying attention to the following:

Tightening specifications: Intake manifold assembly overview, refer to => [ Intake Manifold Overview ] Intake Manifold Overview.

Always replace gaskets and seals.

Hose connections and charge air system hoses must be free of oil and grease before installing.

Make sure the intake ducting is not blocked by leaves or dirt; clean if necessary.

Secure all hose connections using hose clamps appropriate for the model type, refer to the Parts Catalog.
