Selector Mechanism Overview
There is a risk of injury and accident from accidentally engaging a gear when the engine is running.
• Before work is done with the engine running, move the selector lever into "P" and press the parking brake button to engage the electromechanical parking brake.
Before disassembling the selector mechanism, perform check, refer to => [ Selector Mechanism, Checking ] Selector Mechanism, Checking.
1 O-ring
• Replace
2 Selector Lever Cable
• Do not bend

3 Bolt
• For selector lever cable adjustment
• Tightening specification - item 5 - => [ (Item 5) Bolt ] Description and Operation
4 Transmission Park Selector Switch (F305)
• Consists of two microswitches on the circuit board on the shift lock solenoid (N110)
• Removing and installing, refer to => [ Transmission Park Selector Switch (F305) ] Transmission Park Selector Switch (F305)
5 Shift Lock Solenoid (N110)
• Removing and installing, refer to => [ Shift Lock Solenoid (N110) ] Shift Lock Solenoid (N110)
6 Cover
• Over the shift lock solenoid
7 Selector Lever Sensor System Control Module (J587) with Tiptronic Switch (F189)
• Removing and installing, refer to => [ Selector Lever Sensor System Control Module (J587) ] Selector Lever Sensor System Control Module (J587)
8 Nut
• 8 Nm
• For securing the shift mechanism to the body
• Quantity: 4
9 Gasket
10 Selector Mechanism Function Unit
• Can only be replaced as a unit
• Removing and installing, refer to => [ Shift Mechanism Function Unit ] Shift Mechanism Function Unit
11 Clip
• For selector lever cable
12 Noise Insulation
• Not installed on all vehicles
• For the correct allocation, refer to the Electronic Parts Catalog (ETKA)
13 Lock Washers
• Replace
• For the noise insulation
