Power Steering Column Control Module
Special tools, testers and auxiliary items required
• Torque Wrench (V.A.G 1410)
Removing
If replacing the control module, select "replace" in "Guided Functions" on the appropriate control module.
Use vehicle diagnosis tester.
Now follow the instructions on the screen.
- Remove the steering column. Refer to => [ Steering Column ] Steering Column.
- Disconnect the connector - 1 -.
- Remove bolt - 2 -.
- Slightly lift the power adjustable steering column control module (J866) - 3 - and removed it from the steering column in direction of - arrow -.
Installing
Install in reverse order of removal. Note the following:
Tightening specifications, refer to => [ Steering Column Overview ] Steering Column Overview
- Install the power adjustable steering column control module with the pins - 1 - into the groove - arrow - in the steering column - 2 -.
Perform a basic setting if the power adjustable steering column control module was replaced.
- Vehicle diagnostic tester connect and perform vehicle-specific entry into Guided Fault Finding.
- Select the program in "Guided Functions" under the address "09 - electronic central electric".
- Now follow the instructions on the screen.
