Installation

Installation is done in reverse order, observe the following:

Tightening specification, refer to => [ Refrigerant Lines, Condenser, Expansion Valve, A/C Compressor Overview ] Refrigerant Lines, Condenser, Expansion Valve, A/C Compressor Overview.

- Thoroughly clean the contact surfaces - C - of the A/C compressor.

- Install the alignment sleeves - A - in the A/C compressor - B -.

Make sure the alignment sleeves are seated correctly and the contact surfaces are clean. Alignment sleeves that are installed incorrectly and dirty or damaged contact surfaces can lead to alignment irregularities between the compressor and engine. Alignment irregularities will result in damage to the A/C compressor over time.

There is an unspecified amount of refrigerant oil in the removed compressor so follow the information on replacing the compressor.

- If a new A/C compressor has been installed or fresh refrigerant oil has been added, the A/C compressor must be turned by hand approximately 10 turns before installing the ribbed belt (for example, after cleaning the refrigerant circuit) prior to the first start of the engine (after installation). This ensures that the A/C compressor will not be damaged.

- Install the after-run coolant pump (V51).

- Install the ribbed belt.

- Attach the refrigerant lines to the A/C compressor. Refer to => [ A/C Compressor Refrigerant Lines ] A/C Compressor Refrigerant Lines.

- Evacuate and fill the refrigerant circuit.

- Operate the A/C system after filling the refrigerant circuit. Refer to => [ A/C System, Operating After Filling Refrigerant Circuit ] A/C System, Operating After Filling Refrigerant Circuit.

- Follow the information on servicing the A/C system after installing the compressor. Refer to => [ A/C System, Operating After Filling Refrigerant Circuit ] A/C System, Operating After Filling Refrigerant Circuit.
