A/C System Control and Regulation Components Outside Passenger Compartment
• If there is an A/C system malfunction, check the event memory of the Climatronic control module (J255) (and the Rear A/C display control head (E265) using the Vehicle Diagnostic Tester in the "Guided Fault Finding" function.
• If a different control unit displays a message to read the event memory, also read the event memory on this control module (for example, the Vehicle electrical system control module (J519) , the Comfort system central control module (J393) ); certain components of the A/C system (for example, the A/C compressor regulator valve (N280) , the A/C pressure/temperature sensor (G395) ) are no longer activated directly by the Climatronic control module and the measured values are no longer evaluated directly by the Climatronic control module.
• If no malfunction is displayed, read out the measured values of the control head, the Climatronic control module (and the Rear A/C display control head (E265) ) and activate any problematic component via the "output diagnostic test" function using the Vehicle Diagnostic Tester in the "Guided Fault Finding" function.
• The function "electrical testing" is not described in this Repair Manual. Conduct the electrical test using the Vehicle Diagnostic Tester in the "Guided Fault Finding" function. Information regarding the functions to be checked is provided here.
• Temperature-dependent resistance values of the various temperature sensors are stored in tables. These can be called up using the Vehicle Diagnostic Tester in the "Guided Fault Finding" function.
• The electrical test of the various control motors is described in the Vehicle Diagnostic Tester in the "Guided Fault Finding" function.
• Servicing operations for the refrigerant circuit are described in => [ Refrigerant Circuit, Servicing ] Refrigerant Circuit, Servicing.
After completion of the repair work, perform the following steps on the Climatronic control module (J255) (and the Rear A/C display control head (E265) ) using the Vehicle Diagnostic Tester in the "Guided Fault Finding" function:
- Read out the event memory and erase any displayed entries.
- Check the coding.
- Check the adaptation as necessary.
- Perform the basic setting.
