Oil Pan and Oil Pump Overview






Oil Pan and Oil Pump Overview

If large quantities of metal particles or other deposits such as those caused by partial seizure of the crankshaft or connecting rod damage are found in the engine oil, clean the oil channels thoroughly and replace the engine oil cooler to prevent further damage.

1 Oil Level Thermal Sensor (G266)

2 Seal

Replace

3 Bolt

Replace

Tightening sequence, refer to => [ Lower Oil Pan - Tightening Sequence ]

4 Lower Oil Pan

Removing and installing, refer to => [ Lower Oil Pan ] Lower Oil Pan

5 Oil Baffle

Replace

6 Suction Line

Clean strainer if contaminated.

7 Bolt

9 Nm

8 O-ring

Replace

Lubricate

9 Oil Pump

Removing and installing, refer to => [ Oil Pump ] Oil Pump

10 Centering Sleeve

11 O-ring

Replace

12 Oil Pressure Regulation Valve (N428)

Removing and installing, refer to => [ Oil Pressure Regulation Valve (N428) ] Service and Repair.

13 Bolt

9 Nm

14 Chain Tensioner

15 Oil Pump Drive Chain

Mark the running direction before removing.

16 Bolt

9 Nm

17 Seal

Replace

18 Oil Separator

Removing and installing, refer to => [ Oil Separator ] Service and Repair

19 Bolt

Tightening sequence, refer to => [ Oil Separator, Tightening Sequence ]

20 Upper Oil Pan

Removing and installing, refer to => [ Upper Oil Pan ] Upper Oil Pan

21 Bolt

Replace

Tightening sequence, refer to => [ Upper Oil Pan - Tightening Sequence ]

22 Bolt

Replace

Tightening sequence, refer to => [ Upper Oil Pan - Tightening Sequence ]

23 Bolt

20 Nm

24 Seal

25 Bolt

9 Nm

26 Seal

27 Check Valve

28 Oil Drain Plug

30 Nm

Replace

29 Nut

9 Nm

Lower Oil Pan - Tightening Sequence





- Tighten the bolts - 1 through 19 - in 2 steps as follows:

- Tighten the bolts to 8 Nm.

- Tighten the bolts an additional 45°.

Upper Oil Pan - Tightening Sequence





- Tighten the bolts - 1 through 13 - in 2 steps as follows:

- 1. Tighten the bolts to 15 Nm.

- 2. Tighten the bolts an additional 90°.

Oil Separator, Tightening Sequence





- Tighten the bolts to 9 Nm in the following sequence: - 1 to 9 -.
