Data Link Connector (DLC)





Installed location: Data Link Connector (DLC) is located beneath knee bolster on left of steering wheel.

Check the following components with Guided Fault Finding vehicle tester.

Shift Lock Solenoid (N110)





Installed location: The shift lock solenoid - 1 - is located in the selector mechanism function unit.

The shift lock solenoid cannot be replaced individually. If one component is faulty, then the shift mechanism function unit must be replaced. Refer to up to 11.2009 => [ Selector Mechanism Function Unit ] Selector Mechanism Function Unit, or from 11.2009 => [ Selector Mechanism Function Unit ] Selector Mechanism Function Unit.

DSG Transmission Mechatronic (J743)





Installed location: DSG transmission mechatronic is bolted on to the transmission housing at front and covered by transmission oil pan.

Refer to => [ Direct Shift Gearbox (DSG) Mechatronic (J743) ] Service and Repair.

Transmission Input Speed Sensor (G182)/Clutch Oil Temperature Sensor (G509)





Installed location: The transmission input speed sensor/clutch oil temperature sensor item - A - are attached to the transmission housing under the DSG transmission mechatronic.

Selector Lever Sensor System Control Module (J587) with Selector Lever (E313), Tiptronic Switch (F189), Selector Lever Park Position Lock Switch (F319)





Installed location: Installed location: the components are integrated permanently in the circuit board - B - for the shift mechanism function unit and cannot be replaced individually.

If one component is faulty, then the shift mechanism function unit must be replaced. Refer to => [ Selector Mechanism Function Unit ] Selector Mechanism Function Unit or => [ Selector Mechanism Function Unit ] Selector Mechanism Function Unit.

Transmission Range Display (Y6)





Installed location: Integrated inside the instrument cluster

• The selector lever position display can only be replaced together with the instrument cluster.

If transmission range display flashes or lights up, refer to => [ Transmission Control Module Safety Functions ] Transmission Control Module Safety Functions.

Selector Lever Scale Illumination Bulb (L101) - Vehicles with a Stationary Selector Mechanism Cover





Installed location: Integrated into the top of the cover - 1 - for selector mechanism.

The cover circuit board must be replaced. Selector Lever Scale Illumination Bulb (L101) - Vehicles with a Selector Lever Boot





Installed location: Clipped into cover frame - 1 - for selector lever.

Brake Lamp Switch (F)





Installed location: Installed location: brake lamp switch - arrow - is located in foot pedal assembly.

Brake lamp switch, removing and installing.

• A switch may be installed only once.

Kick Down Switch (F8)





A programmed value from the accelerator pedal position sensor (G79) and accelerator pedal position sensor 2 (G185) (integrated in accelerator pedal module) are saved in the engine control module as a kick-down signal.

• Signal transmitted from engine control module (ECM) to transmission control module (TCM) via CAN bus
