Steering Gear, Converting from Generation II to Generation III
• The Generation II steering gears are no longer available as a replacement part.
• For this reason, Generation III steering gear must be installed for it.
• On affected vehicles, a few other parts may need to be replaced in addition to the steering gear. The following information explains the vehicles that require this and the procedures. Refer to the Electronic Parts Catalog (ETKA).
The following parts listed must be replaced when replacing a Generation II steering gear with a Generation III steering gear:
• Replace the wiring harness => [ Electrical Wiring ] Steering Gear Overview, Generation I and II.
