1 Universal Joint
2 Bolt
• 20 Nm + 90° turn
• Always replace if removed.
3 Electrical Wiring
4 Steering Gear
• There are different versions. Refer to the Electronic Parts Catalog (ETKA).
• With power steering control module (J500).
• Can be tested in "Guided Fault Finding" using the vehicle diagnosis, testing and information system (VAS 5051B).
5 Wheel Bearing Housing
6 Nut
• Applies to all except S3 and RS 3: 20 Nm + 90° turn.
• Applies to S3: first tighten to 100 Nm; then loosen 180° and tighten again to 100 Nm.
• Applies to RS 3: 110 Nm.
• Self-locking
• Always replace if removed.
7 Subframe with Brackets
8 Bolt
• 50 Nm + 90° turn
• Always replace if removed.
9 Clamp with Nuts
• Not installed on vehicles with Generation III steering gear.
• Removing and installing, refer to => [ Rubber Bushing ] Rubber Bushing.
• Always replace if removed.
10 Heat Shield
11 Bolt
• 6 Nm
