Engine Codes BPY, CBFA, CCTA






Starter

Observe notes on contact corrosion. Refer to=> [ Contact Corrosion ] Contact Corrosion.

Removing






When installing, reinstall all cable ties that were loosened or cut during removal in the same locations.

- With ignition switched off, disconnect battery ground wire. Refer to => [ Battery in Engine Compartment, Disconnecting and Connecting ] Battery In Engine Compartment, Disconnecting and Connecting.

- Disconnect the mass airflow sensor (G70) connector - item 1 -.

- Remove engine cover - arrows -.

- Remove the cable tie - arrow - for the protective boot - 3 -.






- Disconnect electrical connector - 2 -.

- Fold back the protective boot and remove the B+ cable on the starter solenoid.

- Remove ground wire - 1 -.

- Remove the upper screw on the starter.

- Remove the noise insulation in the center - attachments 1 through 3 -.






- Disconnect the connector - 2 - on the back-up lamp switch (F4).






- Remove the nut - 1 - and remove the bracket with the electric wires from the threaded bolt.

- Remove the lower screw on the starter and remove the starter.

Installing

Install in reverse order of removal, noting the following:

- Connect battery. Required actions => Battery In Engine Compartment, Disconnecting and Connecting.
