Starter

Observe notes on contact corrosion => [ Contact Corrosion ] Contact Corrosion.

Removing






- Remove the air guide by releasing the side retainers - arrows -.

- Unclip the lower air guide by releasing the left and right retainers - arrow A -.






- Disengage the lower air guide - 2 - at the mounts - 3 - by moving the lower air guide slightly to the rear.

- Disconnect the air guide pipe - 1 - from the lower air guide - arrow B -.

- Disconnect the mass air flow sensor (G70) connector - 2 -.






- Disconnect the ventilation hose - 1 -.

- Remove the air guide hose - 3 -.

- Remove the bolt - 4 - and remove the air filter housing.

- With ignition switched off, disconnect battery ground wire. Refer to => [ Battery in Engine Compartment, Disconnecting and Connecting ] Battery In Engine Compartment, Disconnecting and Connecting.






- If equipped, remove the cable tie for the protective boot.

- Disconnect the electrical connector - 4 - by sliding the retainer back and pressing the release down.

- Fold back the boot - 3 - and disconnect the B+ wire - 6 - from the solenoid switch.

- Remove the screws - 1 - and - 2 - and then remove the starter - 3 - upward.

Installing

Install in reverse order of removal, observing the following:

- Install the air filter housing.

- Connect battery. Required actions => Battery In Engine Compartment, Disconnecting and Connecting.
