Selector Mechanism Overview

There is a risk of injury and accident from accidentally engaging a gear when the engine is running.

• Before performing work with the engine running, place the selector lever in the "P" position and set the parking brake.






1 Selector Lever Cable

• Do not bend.

6 Sleeve

7 Selector Lever Knob

10 Selector Lever Sensor System Control Module (J587) with Tiptronic Switch (F189)

11 Shift Lock Solenoid (N110)

12 Selector Mechanism Function Unit

13 Bolt

• 6.5 Nm

• Quantity: 4

• For the selector mechanism function unit to the lower section.

14 Bolt

• 6.4 Nm

• Quantity: 2

• For the centering bracket to the lower section of the selector mechanism function unit.

15 Bolt

• 10 Nm

• Quantity: 4

• For the lower section of the selector mechanism function unit to the body.

16 Selector Mechanism Function Unit Lower Section

17 Centering Bracket

• May not be installed again if it is damaged or removed; necessary for factory production only.
