Parking Brake Cables

Removing

- Remove the center console extension.

- Remove the wheels and tires.

- Detach the underside panel on the left and right rear and unclip the parking brake cables.

- Detach the underside panel (left side) approximately 8 bolts.

- Detach the inner underside panel at exhaust pipe.

- Detach the rear exhaust pipe.

- Pull out the retaining clip - 1 - and unhook the parking brake cables at the brake caliper.





Do not damage the parking brake boot when removing and installing.

- Unclip the brake line - 2 - from the retainer - 3 -.





- Unclip the parking brake cables - 1 - from the fuel tank (clip) - 2 -.





- Unclip the parking brake cables - 3 - from the retainer - 1 -.





Before installing the new parking brake cables you must remove the parking brake lever and reset the mechanism.

Installing

- Clip on the parking brake cable until it engages.





The cable - 1 - must lie under cable - 2 - at cross point.

- Clip the cable into the retainers provided.

- The clip loop on the retainer must be located between the two positioning rings - 4 -.





- Tighten bolt - 2 -. Tightening specification: 25 Nm

- Secure the parking brake cables to the underside and the fuel tank.

Do not damage the parking brake boot when removing and installing.

- Hook the parking brake cable into the brake caliper and insert the retaining clip - 1 -.





- Positioning rings - 1 - should be on the inner side of the clips on the retainer.





- Tighten bolt - 2 -. Tightening specification: 25 Nm

- Install the heat shields.

- Install the center console extension.

- Adjust the parking brake. Refer to => [ Parking Brake Adjusting ] Parking Brake Adjusting.
