Parking Brake Handle
Removing
- Remove the center console extension.
- Release the handle - 1 - with a screwdriver - 3 - and remove.
- Remove the cover - 4 - and handle - 1 -.
- Remove the bolts - 2 - and remove the carrier - 1 -. (Bolt tightening specification: 6 Nm).
With two cables attached:
- Insert the screwdriver into the release opening.
- Push the screwdriver in the direction of "center adjustment ".
- Keep the screwdriver in this position and slowly operate parking brake lever.
• Make sure that the cable eyelets do not come off the hooks.
- Remove the screwdriver.
- Unhook the parking brake cables.
With one cable attached:
- Release the mechanism with a screwdriver - 2 -, at the same time pressing back the second spring loaded hook - 1 - with another screwdriver.
- Remove the collar nuts - 1 -. (Nut tightening specification: 25 Nm).
- Disconnect the parking brake contact switch.
- Remove the parking brake lever - 2 - from the plate.
Resetting the adjustment mechanism
- Clamp the spring loaded hook in a vise.
- Release the mechanism with a screwdriver - 2 -, at the same time pressing back second spring-loaded hook with another screwdriver.
Installing
- Installation is in the reverse order of removal.
- Install the center console extension.
- Hand tighten both nuts - 1 -.
• The rear nut can be accessed through the ashtray opening, and the front one through a opening in the bottom of the storage compartment.
- Align the parking brake cable so that it is in the middle of the recess for the center console.
- Tighten the nuts, tightening specification: 25 Nm
- Adjust the parking brake. Refer to => [ Parking Brake Adjusting ] Parking Brake Adjusting.
